Jazz was so anxious when we first picked him up from the GHS, we had to lift him into the car (he was then about 50 lbs). Then once we got home he laid by the door for an hour, he was so scared. We learned pretty quickly he had separation anxiety and keeping him in the crate meant he would pull anything he could reach into the crate to chew up.
He is now the friendliest, happiest dog ever and everyone always compliments him on how well behaved he is. We are so happy to have him in our family because he is so full of love and joy- it’s infectious! He loves snuggles and being outside – he’ll sit in our backyard all day watching the birds and squirrels if he could. When he’s not outside walking or playing, he’s inside trying to find the comfiest nap spot as close to one of us as possible. Often times this means he ends up in our laps.
When I think back to those first few weeks and the challenges that presented both ourselves and Jazz, I’m so proud of how far we’ve come together and feel so lucky to have found him. Thank you GHS!!!!
