Data Entry & Medical Records Clerk

TITLE: Data Entry Clerk – Medical Records

REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Animal Care

LOCATION: 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd., Guelph ON  

TYPE: Full-time, Summer Contract (Approx. 40 hours/week); Monday to Friday; 8-week contract (June 29th, 2026 to August 28, 2026)

The Data Entry Clerk plays an essential role in supporting the care and well-being of the animals who come through the Guelph Humane Society. Through accurate record-keeping, attentive communication, and collaboration with multiple teams, this position ensures that every animal’s medical journey is clearly documented and that staff have the information they need to provide exceptional care.
Ideal for someone in a post-secondary program related to (animal care, administration, office systems, or equivalent experience). Experience working in an animal shelter, veterinary clinic, or similar environment is strongly preferred.

The Opportunity

Working under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Animal Care, the Data Entry Clerk will contribute to smooth medical workflows, organized veterinary procedures, and timely information-sharing across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen skills in data management, communication, organization, and cross-department collaboration within a fast-paced and reactive environment. The Data Entry Clerk works closely with the Animal Care team, RVT/Health Coordinator, Adoption Coordinators, and Intake/Foster teams, helping maintain a high standard of care for animals from intake to adoption. 

This is a Canada Summer Jobs funded positions. To be eligible for this position, you must have been a full-time student during the previous academic year and be intending to return to full-time studies in the next academic year at an accredited Canadian Academic Institution. You also must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and be eligible to work in Canada.

At the Guelph Humane Society (GHS), we believe every life deserves hope, care, and compassion. Each year, we help more than 3,000 animals and engage thousands of community members through education, outreach, and advocacy. Together, we are building a community where all animals are valued and supported.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Day Camp Leader(s) to help bring our mission to life through hands-on programs that educate, inspire, and connect people and animals.

The Opportunity

The GHS Day Camp Leader plays a critical role in educating approximately 200 children from Guelph and Wellington County, ranging from ages 5 to 11, on the important role animals play in our lives and in our community. Through mentorship and experiential learning, the GHS Day Camp Leader will have the opportunity to expand their skills in leadership, collaboration and communication skills through the delivery of animal-themed education programs that include animal care and welfare, wildlife conservation, biodiversity and ecosystem health. This role directly supports green job development by building knowledge in conservation, ecosystem health, and environmental stewardship.

At the Guelph Humane Society’s Summer Critter Camp, we believe every child deserves the chance to thrive, play, and learn no matter what their needs or abilities. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for compassionate and patient individuals to join our team as Early Childhood Program Staff Assistants.

The Opportunity

The Early Childhood Program Staff Assistant will provide one-on-one support to campers aged 5 to 11 who have advanced needs, learning disabilities and/or require individualized care at GHS Summer Critter Camp. This role ensures an inclusive, barrier-reduced camp environment, supporting children of all abilities, including those with developmental or behavioural challenges, to fully participate and succeed. This position strengthens local community well-being by ensuring children with disabilities and neurodiversity have equitable access to learning and social experiences, supporting families who may have limited caregiving or financial capacity during the summer.
