We welcomed our furry angel, Misha, into the Farrelly fold back in 2012. It was at my young daughter’s urging that we take her out for a walk as we came upon her pen at GHS and Misha looked at us with her nervous, yet hopeful and kind big brown eyes.
Without knowing anything about her background, Misha came to GHS as an emaciated, mangey and highly anxious stray. We kept the name GHS gave her, as nothing else seemed to fit.
I will never forget trying to teach her how to play fetch and how to play with dog toys. The first time I took her through a Tim Horton’s drive-thru, she didn’t know what a Timbit was, but she quickly learned!
She has blossomed into a calm and joyful member of our family. Misha especially loves cuddling pillows, watching people eat, going for walks, watching the sky and trees while feeling the wind in her fur, sitting on the deck and enjoying the first snowflakes of the season land on her nose, and much, much more.
Misha inspired two articles that I wrote (links below), as well as my desire to give back and volunteer at GHS for a period of time. One thing is for sure, our life has been made better, by having Misha in it! Thank you so much to GHS for all that you do!
