Juliet is the best pal that anyone could ask for – she snuggles in my lap and purrs while we watch movies or read books, she loves to use her scratching post, nibble on her catnip mouse or to chase her favourite feather toy, and she even “helps” me to do the laundry (mostly by sitting on the clothes I’m trying to fold so that she’s the center of attention). She is playful and affectionate and while, at nine months old, she’s already a lanky teenager, she definitely retains the enthusiasm and curiosity of a kitten. We’re still working on her tendency to get overly excited and give love bites (on occasion, she becomes a vampire kitty and wants to sink her teeth into hands as well as toys) but generally, she is extremely well-behaved and a very sweet girl who’s been adapting very well to a new home and a different routine. I can’t imagine sharing my home and my life with any other furry friend.

I decided to stick with her original name, “Juliet” for three reasons: 1) it’s the name she knows best, 2) I’m an avid admirer of Shakespearean drama, and 3) I fell in cat-love with the charming Juliet the moment I met her in GHS Adoption Room, so it seemed appropriate for her to be named after a famous romantic heroine. She is just as sweet and as special as the name would suggest and everyone who meets her remarks upon her friendly disposition and her distinctive tortoise-shell coat. I’m truly grateful to the Guelph Humane Society and its wonderful staff and volunteers for taking such good care of Juliet and helping me to adopt her and bring her safe and sound into her new home. You all do such excellent work and I appreciate everything that you’ve done to bring Juliet to her forever home. 🙂
