Only a month ago, my partner and I welcomed a very handsome young boy to our home. Goose (formally Treble when he arrived at the GHS) was just a baby when we saw him. We went to Petsmart without the intention of getting a pet, but it was love at first site. He obviously agreed, because when we tried to put him back in his crate with his brother, he screamed at us until we picked him up again. He was instantly comfortable when we brought him home and quickly made himself comfortable.
The first few weeks were tough, because Goose had been fighting a viral infection that affected his upper respiratory tract. Even with constant care and cleaning, it got out of hand and he had his first vet visit. He is very well now, and almost through all of his medication!
The impact he has had on my partner and I has been incredible. We both suffer from mental illness and really struggled in our tiny apartment with no other pets. Goose has been such a calming, loving, and refocusing presence in our lives since we brought him home. He sticks with us when we are having tough days and purrs as loud as he can to cheer us up. We are both so grateful to have him in our home, and we hope we can continue to keep him happy & healthy. Thank you GHS for adding to our family and trusting us to love Goosey Boy!
