GUELPH, ON (June 11, 2026) – The Guelph Humane Society (GHS) is thrilled to share the success of its fourth annual Happy Trails Walk-a-thon, proudly presented by Wellington Laboratories. The event, which took place on June 7th, raised $71,893.84 net, the most successful walk-a-thon the humane society has experienced since its launch in 2023.
Support came from the local community members from across Guelph and Wellington County, sponsorship from local businesses, and a $15,000 matching gift from title sponsor Wellington Laboratories.
GHS hosted 328 walkers, including 36 teams and more than 80 dogs. Participants took part in a 1km or 5km loop on the trails that surround the Hanlon Creek Business Park.
“This year’s Walk-a-thon was spectacular,” said Kim Robinson, GHS Director of Development. “We are so grateful to Wellington Laboratories for supporting the walk for the fourth year in a row as our amazing title sponsor. It is always incredible to see the generosity and love our community has for the animals who depend on us.”
Funds from the walk will support the care for the more than 3,000 vulnerable animals that depend on GHS each year, including local wildlife and pets in need.
“One of the most exciting parts of the event is seeing all of the dogs joining us on the trail, especially our Guelph Humane Society alumni returning with their families and thriving in loving homes”, says Robinson. “It is a powerful reminder of the difference our community’s support makes every day.”
The event featured the Speedy Woof Zone, sponsored by Speedy Auto Service Guelph, the Team Zone sponsored by Royal Canin, and a complimentary hot breakfast provided by Platters Catering and Events.
“The energy throughout the morning was truly inspiring,” shares Robinson. “Families, friends, coworkers, and their canine companions came together with one shared goal: to create brighter futures for animals in need. None of this would have been possible without our community coming together and our local partners.”
