Wellington Laboratories to double all donations made up to and including the June 7 event, up to $15,000

GUELPH, ON (May 30, 2026) — With just one week remaining until the Guelph Humane Society’s (GHS) Happy Trails Walk-a-thon, local animal lovers are being urged to lace up their sneakers to help vulnerable pets in the community.
The annual family and dog-friendly fundraiser, presented by Wellington Laboratories, takes place June 7 at the Guelph Humane Society located at 190 Hanlon Creek Blvd.
GHS has set a $35,000 fundraising goal for this year’s event, with proceeds going directly to the GHS Greatest Need Fund. The fund provides veterinary care, shelter, food, and enrichment for hundreds of animals annually. As the event approaches, the shelter is in the final stretch, sitting just $ 9,500 short of its target.
To help bridge the gap, Wellington Laboratories has pledged to match all donations made between now and June 7, dollar-for-dollar, up to $15,000.
“Every day, animals arrive at our doors needing care, compassion and a second chance,” says Kim Robinson, GHS’s director of development. “The Happy Trails Walk-a-thon is an opportunity for our community to come together and directly impact the lives of animals who need us most. Thanks to the generosity of Wellington Laboratories, every donation made over the next week will go twice as far.”
Participants can register as individuals or as part of a team, with the option to complete either a one-kilometre or five-kilometre route. Dogs on leashes are welcome to join their owners.
Beyond the walk, the morning will feature a variety of family-friendly activities, vendor booths, food, and entertainment.
Registration and check-in begin at 8 a.m., with the walk officially starting at 10 a.m. post-walk activities will run until 12:30 p.m. The event will run rain or shine.
