We lost our Tanka on Saturday April 03 2021. We adopted Tanka in 2011 from Guelph Human Society and we had an instant connection with her. She was about 3-4 months old and seemed so excited to met us and explore her new surroundings. She was curious as well she knew when to hold back and assess different situations. We took her to puppy school were she was their #1 student in that class. She was eager to please us and never wanted to let us down. She did also have her moments as well, we found that she had food aggression issues and we worked so hard with her on that. We did our best to socialize her at ever opportunity. Also working with her on her social anxieties which was difficult for her as she was so intuitive to the energies around her. Tanka went everywhere with us. She loved her car rides and to run, chase sticks and balls as well swim. She became a pro at swimming. She was at her best and at peace when she had her pack around her. She was very pretty to look at. It wasn’t very often that when we went for a work we weren’t stopped by someone and commented on her and how unique she was. We knew we had a dog that was special. That being said we all think our dogs are special and everyone is right. Every dog is special to their people. When we had to say goodbye to our Tanka it was heartbreaking and being under another covid lockdown on top of that. I think anyone that has lost a beloved pet knows exactly how it feels. I was surprised how much it has affected me even after her being gone for almost a month. But I’m comforted by all the pictures and videos we have of her. Our house will never be the same, the silence is deafening. However we have her in our hearts so she is always with us. Thank you Guelph Humane Society for introducing her to us and allowing us to be her people, and she our dog. ♥️🐾🌈
