At any given day, the Guelph Humane Society (GHS) provides care and shelter to more than 150 homeless animals. Many experience compassion for the very first time in our care. A gentle hand, a warm bath or a clean blanket to provide warmth all help transform a scared, vulnerable animal to a trusting one. You have helped make many of these transformations possible.

When Gemma and Daisy arrived at our doorstep, the sight broke our hearts. They were emaciated, dehydrated, and too weak to lift their heads. Their ribs showed through their thin fur. From the moment they arrived, it was clear: these girls had been surviving on their own for far too long. Their bodies were so fragile and malnourished that even feeding them posed a serious risk.

That’s why our expert team created a specialized refeeding plan. Small, frequent meals. Constant monitoring. Round-the-clock care. Slowly, gently, we helped them rebuild their strength, one step, one meal, one day at a time.
