Re:Purpose Fest by Guelph Tool Library

Looking for a way to recycle and repurpose some of your household items? On Saturday June 29th, Guelph Tool Library is holding Re:Purpose Fest!

Gently used sheets, towels, fleece blankets, towels, flat sheets, knitted blankets, baby blankets will be collected on behalf of the Guelph Humane Society.

For a more detailed list of things you can bring, look here! This event will be collecting 20 different items for recycling and repurposing, and items will benefit a variety of local organizations.

From the organizer:

We have partnered with GNSC and Two Rivers Neighborhood Group for a community BBQ and recycling festival. Generously sponsored by The Cooperators, we’ll be repurposing and recycling items like car seats, VHS tapes, luggage, mascara wands, old bedding and more. Guelph Humane Society – Drop Off Day #3

Have donations you’d like to contribute for our garage sale? The Guelph Humane Society staff and volunteers will be hosting drop-off days at the Guelph Curling Club (816 Woolwich Street) to accept your generous donations! Our last of three drop-off  days will be Friday June 21st from 12pm-7pm. 

We have a general list of “please do’s” and “no thank you’s” to help inspire you for what to bring!

Royal City Brewing Co. Launch Party

On Saturday May 25th stop by the Royal City Brewing Co. from 3pm-7pm and visit our Guelph Humane Society booth! Royal City will be launching an ale where $0.50 from every can purchased will be donated back to the Guelph Humane Society. You’ll have to come out to see what type they have in store for you, but trust us, you’re going to love it! Hint: It’s the return of an oldie but such a goodie!

“For 125 years, the Guelph Humane Society has been dedicated to protecting the many animals with whom we share our community. Each year over 3,000 vulnerable animals come through their doors in need of care and compassion.

This May, we’re collaborating with the staff at Guelph Humane Society in support of their work and to assist in their funding for building their new home where they can truly unleash hope for these animals.

Greenbriar Garden Party

DATE: Sunday July 21

Join us on Sunday July 21st from 2pm – 4pm at 92 Speedvale Avenue West for a fun filled afternoon and enjoy the beautiful grounds of Greenbriar, hosted by Patricia Ing.

Entrance is by donation, and funds will support the Guelph Humane Society’s new home!

Rockwood Fire Hall Open House

The Guelph Humane Society will have a booth at this event, come out and learn about how to be prepared in an emergency!

Barbeque from 11:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m.

Extrication Demonstration begins at 11:00 a.m.

DRAW and PRIZES

The Township of Guelph/Eramosa Fire Department, along with their Emergency Response Partners, is hosting an Open House and Information Day on Saturday May 4, 2019.  This event is being held in conjunction with National Emergency Preparedness Week which runs from May 5 – 11, 2019.  Fire and Emergency Services serving the Township of Guelph/Eramosa and Wellington County will be at this event to present an exciting and informative day for the community.

*     Do you know what your community risks are?

*     What would you do if a tornado struck your house?

*     Are you prepared for power outages?

*     Do you have enough of the right supplies in your home to be self sufficient for 3 days?  Are you prepared for an emergency?

*     View some of the response capabilities that the Township currently has.

*    Combination Smoke/Co Alarms will be available for purchase.

Come out and meet your local Firefighters, O.P.P., Military and other response team partners. Watch an auto extrication event and practice with the fire extinguisher simulator.  Spray some water from the tanker and then enjoy a barbecue lunch with Sparky.  Be sure to enter the draw for prizes.

Also, the Township will be holding its 2019 Green Tree Legacy distribution day.  Non-perishable food donation items will accepted on behalf of East Wellington Community Services.
