Here at the Guelph Humane Society, we rely heavily on our network of over 100 active foster families to provide a warm, loving home where animals can thrive and develop into wonderful pets!

Julia is one of our awesome foster parents! Julia has been fostering with GHS since 2017 and is willing to take on a variety of animals, whether they be dogs, cats, or rabbits! After being surrounded by pets all her life, Julia was missing having an animal companion while living away from home to attend school. Fostering has been the perfect way for Julia to fill that void – with the added bonus of getting to help animals in our community! While saying goodbye to a foster animal can be hard, Julia always looks forward to helping the next animal.

Fostering animals can be a blast, but it can sometimes involve nights of little sleep and days of demanding animals looking for walks, playtime, and/or food. It takes a special kind of person to help the difficult cat who resists affection or a rabbit who refuses to take its medication, but the reward of seeing them develop into loving pets is worth it all!
