Here at the Guelph Humane Society, we not only care for cats and dogs, but we also care for a variety of small animals including guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, and rabbits! So far in 2021, over 80 rabbits have come into our care compared to just 60 in 2020 and with over 30 rabbits currently in our care, we are extremely thankful for our team of dedicated rabbit fosters.

Brenda is one of over 35 Rabbit Fosters with us here at GHS and has been a long-time volunteer, having first joined our volunteer team as a Feline Friend before joining our team of foster volunteers in 2017. During that time, Brenda has fostered 19 rabbits and 13 cats, including Earl (pictured), who came to us as part of the 105-cat intake back in January 2020, and her current foster rabbit, Orange Pekoe, who is looking for his new family. Brenda knows that there is no better feeling than having a hands-on impact in helping the animals in our community find their Happy Tail!

While being a foster volunteer can be extremely rewarding, it involves lots of work caring for demanding animals looking for food, play time, and plenty of cuddles. Thanks to dedicated volunteers like Brenda, we are able to provide a warm, loving, temporary home where our animals can thrive and develop into loving pets that would be a wonderful addition to any family!
