We found Rudie at the Guelph Humane Society almost 5 years ago sleeping in a pile of kittens while we were looking for an older cat to add to our 2 cat home. Of course I just wanted to adopt all the cats, but it seemed most of the older ones at the time weren’t good with other cats, and we kept going passed this box of three kittens sleeping in a pile. We noticed 2 out of the 3 were adopted and one was black and white and my partner said, “I’ve kind of always wanted a black and white cat”. We decided it was worth waking them up to meet them and he picked up the black and white one, who gazed sleepily in his eyes then started grooming his mustache and beard. So obviously this was the most precious thing ever and we were sold.

I’ve never met a cat who was such a PAL. He’s very vocal and friendly with everyone and everything, always just wants to hang out and be part of stuff, and give love. To the point of annoying the other cats with endless bathing and cuddles.

He plays fetch and tries to get in the bath with me and doesn’t care at all about getting wet.

He jumps on your shoulders and just lays there like a pirate cat while you walk around the house. Every night around 10 pm he goes up to the guest room and just puts himself to bed, and in the morning, climbs into our bed and walks up my partners chest and starts grooming his mustache and beard just like the first day they met! It really is the most precious thing ever. Even though sometimes it’s way too early….

The foster family must have been amazing, giving us his kitten photo, favorite toy and a handmade cat bed, all of which he still uses today.

I’ve never met such a social, loving cat.

Thanks Guelph Humane Society, for giving us Rudie!
