Gypsy (we’ve kept her name as it suites her and she knows it) is fitting in very well with her new family. Our cats are learning to tolerate her, and even our youngest is joining in on her invitation to play at times. She loves it when we take her on long walks and is very much enjoying the other dogs we meet at the leash-free park; it’s like a free-range dog show. She is extremely agile and loves to jump the snow banks and run beside us while we try to keep up on the sidewalk; leash outstretched. She is good at fetching, but doesn’t always want to let go of the stick when she brings it back. And when we get it back from her, she will make a new fetching stick out of the fallen branches we have piled in our yard. She has a big back yard to play in and just loves jumping off the deck, in and out of the snow, and around the trees and shrubs looking for squirrels and birds and anything at all, playing with our daughter and friends. Gypsy is very smart and stops at the cross walks. We say “look”, she looks left. We say “look” again and she looks right. She is so excited to meet new people and tends to jump up, so we are starting “Manners Class” soon. We love our new dog and she loves us (judging by the cuddles and licks we receive daily). Thank you for our beautiful gift, Gypsy.
