We adopted (Mr.) Chips a little over a year ago. It has been amazing to watch him flourish. Since he was surrendered in March 2022, he has almost doubled his body weight and his hyperthyroidism, chronic skin condition, kidney disease and high blood pressure are all well managed now. Since his teeth were in such bad shape, the humane society’s vet removed most of them before we adopted him. Today, he is a very happy guy, with no pain, a glossy coat and even a little tummy. He needs daily medication, but takes them all really well.

He is very happy here. He has made friends with his two new sisters, but mostly wants to spend as much time as possible with his humans. During the day, he lies next to the keyboard (often with his chin on our hand) when we’re working from home, lies on our chest while we’re watching tv and snuggles with us all night. He is the most gentle and loving cat imaginable.

We’re so grateful to the Guelph Humane Society and his foster home for his care, including many vet visits, after his surrender and to the Animal Hospital of Cambridge, especially Dr. Hayden Marshall, who has been next to us every step of the way to make sure he is living his absolute best life.
