We adopted Arizona (“Zona”) from the GHS in May of 2011 (ten years ago now). She was only a year and a half. She was affectionate with my husband from the start, much to the surprise of anyone working at GHS. She knew she wanted to come home with us and made that very known! Now she spends her days lounging in the sun, watching birds out the window, playing with her best friend Nimoy and being sassy as ever. Lately she’s taken up to laying on the armrest beside me or even on my lap. For a girl who was somewhat aloof, it’s the best gift. Zona is just the best addition to our family.
