Fajita's Story

Make 2X the IMPACT for animals like Fajita

When Fajita arrived at the Guelph Humane Society (GHS), he was in unimaginable pain and distress. This sweet cat had been abandoned, wandering the neighborhood in search of food and comfort. The kind-hearted family who found him tried their best to locate his owners, but it soon became clear that Fajita had been left to fend for himself.

Fajita’s fur was a heartbreaking sight. It had become so severely matted that it had pelted, forming tight, painful knots against his skin. Imagine not brushing or washing your hair for months – it would become clumped, tight, and unbearably uncomfortable. For Fajita, this condition caused constant discomfort and sores.

The weight of the pelts pulled on his skin, making every movement a struggle. He couldn’t scratch or groom himself for relief, and his ability to run, jump, and play was severely impaired.

Thanks to your ongoing kindness, Fajita received the urgent care he desperately needed. Our team ensured he received veterinary treatment. He was sedated and his matted fur was carefully shaved, providing immediate relief.  The mats that were removed weighed a total of one pound.

Fajita is now on the road to recovery, but his story is just one of many.

Right now, more than 150 animals at GHS need the same hope, care, and compassion that you provided to Fajita.

Today, you have a unique opportunity to make twice the impact. Thanks to the generosity of our supporter, Katharin Harkins, every dollar you donate will be matched up to a total of $2,500.

But hurry, Sunday is the last day to double your gift and make a difference in the lives of animals like Fajita
