When Buddy arrived at the Guelph Humane Society (GHS), it was clear he was suffering.
His coat was painfully overgrown and matted, pulling at his skin and leaving him deeply uncomfortable. Our team acted immediately, sending Buddy to one of our trusted veterinary partners. Under sedation, his coat had to be completely shaved away.
But that wasn’t the only pain Buddy was living with.
During his exam, veterinarians discovered severe dental disease. His teeth were so badly infected that Buddy required two surgeries and the removal of nine teeth to finally be free from constant pain.
Because of compassionate supporters like you, Buddy received the urgent care and support he needed.
Buddy spent nearly six months in our care, healing and patiently waiting for a family of his own. Earlier this month, that wait finally ended. Buddy was adopted and is now home. Safe, loved, and spending the holidays in a warm place he belongs.
As we reflect on this past year at GHS, one thing is clear: because of you, animals who arrived frightened, injured, and alone are now safe, healing, and surrounded by love.
