Meet Darla!
Darla is a beautiful, 8 year old, hound/mix who is looking for her new home!
Darla came into the care of GHS when she was found as a stray.
She had knee surgery back in June thanks to generous donor support to our Duke’s Fund. Duke’s Fund helps provide specialized veterinary care for GHS animals, like Darla’s knee surgery.
Due to Darla’s surgery and the fact that she has gone through physiotherapy, she would do best in a quiet home with not a lot of stairs as she may have trouble navigating them.
Darla would likely do well in a home with children who are over the age of 12 and can understand how to treat a dog with respect and be gentle with sweet Darla.
She does well with the other pets that she is currently living with in her foster home. With proper introduction, she would likely do well with other fur siblings in a new home. Darla would actually benefit from a home with another dog, to give her companionship and have a buddy to help draw her out of her quiet shell.
Now that Darla’s knee is feeling better, she is quite the active lady and loves to go for walks and hikes!
Darla is such a loving, gentle soul. She is a little shy and timid at first, however with patience she will warm up to you. She is a sweetheart who will spoil her new owners with all the love that she can give.
If you are interested in Darla, please contact the Guelph Humane Society to chat with our staff and potentially set up a time to meet her!
