Hi friends! My name is Bailey and I’m a sweet gal looking for owners who are willing to be patient with me and who are looking for a pet project! I’m approximately 31 pounds and am an active girl who will need LOTS of exercise to keep me happy- long walks or a good run would work wonders for me! I currently play in the play pen at the shelter and zip around, so a large fenced in backyard would be fantastic! I’m a pro at fetch and will impress you with how smart I am! I came in as a stray so not a whole lot is known about me, but it’s suspected that I may have been a country dog and so may need help adjusting to the city life. Overall I’m a darling, but can be insecure and am in need of some confidence building and socialization. I’m generally friendly but can be avoidant and a little fearful with being handled (touch sensitive)- in addition I can be protective and resource guard my food, toys and rawhides.
I’m a smart cookie who learns quickly, but to set me up for success and to address my fearfulness/resource guarding the shelter is requiring that I be signed up for at least three private, one-on-one training classes with a pre-approved trainer who utilizes positive reinforcement, touch-free methods only. Overall I’ll be a great dog and friend- it may just take a bit of patience and work to get there! I can guarantee it’ll be worth your while!
