How does one operate a humane society in a pandemic? It is a question we never thought we would ask ourselves, and yet here we are eight weeks into the COVID-19 outbreak, and Guelph Humane Society is doing just that. As Nelson Mandela once said, it always seems impossible until it is done. In this issue, we will touch on the ways we continue to serve our community and how we altered our services – such as contactless adoptions.
It’s our busiest season and we receive many calls regarding baby bunnies. We have shared tips on what to do if you see baby bunnies, they are adorable but require special care. We have animal updates on our boy Spencer, who is in foster care, and Roxy, one of the 105 surrendered cats this past January, who is now in her new loving home, enjoying the family life!
We hope to bring joy and comfort knowing that the animals in our community continue to be cared for.
