We are coming up on one year since we brought our boy Cooper home on April 17th, 2019. Cooper came into GHS as a stray in March 2019 when he was found roaming about a Guelph neighbourhood. When he arrived in GHS’ care, it was discovered that he had a bad ear infection and was ridden with ear mites. With lots of love and care, these issues were resolved, but due to the pain these issues caused him from for an unknown amount of time, this resulted in him dropping his right ear when it became too painful to hold upright and it remains down to this day, giving him a very unique look! Now he lives happily as a free roam bunny in his forever home where he is treated like a king and can enjoy the finer things in life, such as the lake views at Grandma & Grandpa’s house. He loves to jump in the bed each morning for cuddles with mom, and enjoys doing all the things humans do – sitting at the kitchen table, relaxing on the couch and even from time to time helps take care of business in the office. After 9 and a half long months of bonding, he also now gets to spend every day playing and snuggling with his sister Cadbury. Despite his sometimes dopey demeanour, he is a very smart bunny and has even learned a few tricks – paw and high five – and comes running when called. He’s brought so much love and laughter into our lives with his crazy antics and we look forward to celebrating the day our little family became whole on April 17th.
